Principal Jonathon Pickelmann graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Concordia University Nebraska with a Masters of Arts degree. He is the principal at St. John’s Lutheran School and also teaches 6^th – 8^th grades half days. Outside of school, Mr. Pickelmann is a volunteer firefighter, serves on a Thri`vent board, and is involved with many outdoor activities. He is married to Amie, and they have two sons who will both be attending St. John’s in the fall.

Mrs. Laura Weber joined the staff of St. John’s Lutheran School in 2004.  She has been the Preschool Director at St. John’s since September 2006.  She also works with the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network.  Mrs. Weber’s three children are all alumni of St. John’s Lutheran School.  

Mrs. Gail Kundinger started at St. John’s as a part-time teacher.  In 2004 she started teaching morning Kindergarten and afternoon middle school. Mrs. Kundinger now serves as our full day Kindergarten teacher.  Mrs. Kundinger has two children who are alumni of St. John’s Lutheran School.

Miss Jessica Strefling was born and raised in a small town in southwest Michigan. She graduated from Concordia University – River Forest, IL. She continues her education with graduate classes at Saginaw Valley State University. Miss Strefling grew up attending Lutheran school and is excited to continue sharing the Gospel in an academic setting. She is an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she enjoys playing in the handbell choir. When teaching duties are not calling, Miss Strefling enjoys baking, working in the yard, and lounging on the beach.

Mr. Mark Koschmann joined the teaching staff at St. John’s in August 2004.  Mr. Koschmann serves as Science teacher for 5^th – 8^th grade, Math teacher for 6^th – 8^th grade, and Athletic Director.  He serves as a Project Teacher for the Activities for Conceptualizing Climate and Climate Change through Purdue University and on the Science Curriculum Committee for the Michigan District.  Mr. Koschmann has been recognized by the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society for Middle Level Science Education as well as receiving the Michigan Science Teacher of the Year award.  He believes strongly in water and nature investigations and brings those loves to his classroom.
