Gift - Stained-Glass Panels
St. John's Lutheran Church is happy to accept these gifts from Pastor Koke's family in his memory. Here is a special letter from the family ...
To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Pastor Koke his memorial fund has been used in two ways. First, to commission two stained-glass panels to hang in an alcove. The first panel depicts "The Word of God" which you see as the open Bible superimposed on a symbol of the Trinity.
The second panel depicts our two Sacraments. "Holy Baptism", which in the panel we see it as a shell with three drops of water, the visible element in this Sacrament. The three drops of water also remind us that we are baptized in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The "Sacrament of the Altar", or as we more frequently refer to it, Holy Communion, is depicted by the Chalice, and the Host rising from the Chalice. This shows us the visible elements, bread and wine, of this Sacrament. Both sacraments instituted by God.
The remaining memorial money will be placed in the designated fund for the refurbishing and repair of our front church doors.
Pastor Koke's family thanks you for your most generous memorials. It is our hope that you are pleased with the decisions we have made for the use of his memorials.
In Christ's Name,
The Koke Family
